Company
History & Philosophy
The Waggoners Trucking is dedicated to meeting our customer’s transportation
needs with professional, superior service, and with a western pride
that is second to none. The road that brought our family-owned business
from 1951 to today was built on a foundation of honesty and hard
work.
Founded
in 1951, our company began as a single truck operation when Wayne
Waggoner began transporting eggs from his parents’ hatchery in Centerville,
Iowa. In 1958, Wayne identified what he saw as a great business
opportunity, switching from the transportation of eggs to the transportation
of oversized and heavy equipment. Before long his son David, now
President, developed an interest in the family business and joined
the company.
By
1968 our fleet had grown to 35 trucks. Lumber and grain were added
to our list of hauling services. As further opportunities arose,
The Waggoners Trucking expanded to include flatbed and less-than-load
(LTL) transportation services, with an emphasis on servicing the
oil field industry throughout North America
In 1987,
The Waggoners Trucking established the Automobile Transportation
Division. The Auto Transport Division quickly grew into the company’s
leading division and established The Waggoners Trucking as the largest
family-owned, non-union car-haul company in the nation.
Today
The Waggoners Trucking is a true pioneer and an innovative leader
in the transportation industry. With the use of advanced communication
technologies, specialized equipment, experienced staff, and an unsurpassed
commitment to quality and customer service, The Waggoners Trucking
continues the tradition of excellence it began in 1951: delivering
damage-free loads on time at a fair price.
