For 75 years, The Waggoners Trucking was a true pioneer in the transportation industry.
Built on a foundation of imagination and determination, Wayne built The Waggoners Trucking from a single truck operation in 1951 into a fleet spanning North America.
Waggoners Trucking ceased trucking operations in May of 2026.
A Proud and Storied History
Wayne Waggoner established what would eventually become The Waggoners Trucking in 1951 with his father, Walter. Originally called “Waggoners Eggs”, Wayne and his father acquired their first truck and bought and sold eggs for a short time. Wayne focused on trucking, expanding their transportation services to more than just eggs during the 1950s.

In 1976, freshly home from military service, Wayne’s son David joined Wayne and became President of Waggoners, with daughter Mary later joining as Vice-President.

Over the last 75 years, Waggoners Trucking hauled a variety of products, including lumber, oversized equipment, and oilfield equipment & supplies.

Waggoners Trucking most successful venture was launched in 1987 – its Automobile Transportation Division, which quickly grew to become the largest family-owned non-union automobile transportation company in the United States, consisting of 1,300 trucks delivering over 1,000,000 vehicles per year for almost every automobile maker in world.

The majority of the Automobile Transportation Division was sold in 2013. However, Waggoners Trucking retained a portion of the operation which continued to operate until May of 2026.
Over the years, Waggoners Trucking continued to hold the same values and philosophies that originally characterized our services back in the 1950s: lots of imagination and determination to provide the best possible transportation solutions for our customers – always with a smile.
Our best and most important asset was our employees. The longevity & experience of our drivers, logistics personnel, and mechanics rivaled other trucking companies. Bottom line: we strived to treat our employees like family. Those values were unwavering and critical to the company’s success over the last 75 years and the reason why so many employees called Waggoners Trucking “home”.

While the Waggoners are no longer actively trucking, they made a lasting impact on the lives of thousands of employees, contractors, business partners, and customers throughout their existence.
