At Waggoners Trucking, we pride ourselves on offering one of the best benefits packages to our drivers and administrative staff in the transportation industry.

Our benefits package is designed to assist you and your eligible dependents in meeting the financial burdens that can result from illness and death, and to help you plan for retirement and deal with job-related or personal problems. Our benefits package includes:

Group Health and Dental Insurance

Waggoners Trucking uses Employee Benefit Management Services, Inc. (or EBMS) as our health plan Contract Administrator.

All full-time regular employees and their dependents are eligible to participate in The Waggoners Trucking Group Health and Dental insurance program. Coverage for employees and their dependents is effective on the first day of the month following 60 days of continuous employment.

We offer 2 Healthcare Plans – one with a Health Savings Plan. We also offer a separate Medicare Eligible Dental Plan.

All “new hires” starting employment after our open enrollment period will have the opportunity to enroll on line following their new hire orientation. Enrollment will be open once a year to add dependents unless you have a new dependent as a result of a Qualifying Event, (marriage, birth, adoption, or placement of adoption) provided that you request enrollment within thirty days after the Qualifying Event.

Upon successful enrollment, you will receive EBMS Insurance Cards and other literature pertaining to our Group Health and Dental Insurance benefits.

Prescription Drugs Benefits Program

All eligible employees are mailed literature pertaining to our Prescription Benefit Program upon enrollment in our Group Health and Dental Insurance Program. Your EBMS insurance card also acts as your prescription card.

Certain medications may not be covered under the Prescription Benefit Program. Refer to your benefit plan documents for more information.

Long Term Disability (Voluntary)

The Waggoners Trucking provides all full-time regular employees with long-term disability insurance benefits. Coverage for eligible employees is effective on the first of the month following 60 days of continuous employment. Workers compensation accidents or injuries are excluded.

After 60 days of continuous employment you are automatically enrolled without charge.  This benefit pays 60% of your regular salary (up to $3,000) after you have established a disability for a period of 60 days.

Short Term Disability (Company Paid)

The Waggoners Trucking now offers all full-time regular employees short-term disability insurance benefits. Coverage for eligible employees is effective on the first of the month following 60 days of continuous employment. Workers compensation accidents or injuries are excluded.

After 60 days of continuous employment you are automatically enrolled without charge.

This benefit pays 60% of your weekly salary up to $500 maximum weekly. An employee must be disabled for 14 days or more and will continue for up to a 10 week benefit period.

Life Insurance (Company Paid)

All full-time regular employees are eligible to participate in The Waggoners Trucking life insurance program. Coverage under this program is available for employees only; dependent coverage is only available through our additional voluntary life insurance payroll deductible program. Coverage for eligible employees is effective on the first day of the month following 60 days of continuous employment.

The amount of Life Insurance is $20,000.

Life Insurance benefits terminate on the date your employment with The Waggoners Trucking terminates. For further details regarding life insurance benefits, consult the summary plan description booklet in this handbook or contact Human Resources.

Critical Illness Coverage (Company Paid Silver Plan only, Voluntary with Gold Plan)

Waggoners Silver healthcare plan includes critical illness coverage through VOYA, offering a lump sum benefit up to $5,000 upon diagnosis of a covered condition.   This is a company-paid benefit for Waggoners’ Silver healthcare plan participants, with a voluntary option available for those not participating in the Silver plan or to increase coverage if needed.

Accident Coverage (Voluntary)

Likewise, Waggoners will offer accident coverage for non work-related accidents from VOYA. Coverage will be based on the specific injury and participants are eligible to receive a one-time payout per accident.   This is also a company-paid benefit for Waggoners Silver healthcare plan participants, with a voluntary option available for those not participating in the Silver plan or to provide coverage for dependents, if needed.

401K Retirement Plan

The Waggoners Trucking has established a retirement program to assist you in your post-employment years. You are encouraged to begin planning for retirement early in your career so Waggoners Trucking matching contributions, along with personal investments and government programs, can grow together to provide future financial security.

The 401 (k) retirement plan is funded by both employee and Waggoners Trucking contributions and all employees are eligible to participate. Your participation begins on the first day of the month following six months of continuous employment.

401(k) Retirement Plan –  Q&A

Question: When can I participate in the Waggoners Trucking 401(k) Retirement Plan?

Answer: After six (6) months of continuous employment, you will be auto-enrolled in the program with the ability to “opt out” if you do not wish to participate. You will receive enrollment information from Voya prior to your participation date.

Question: Does the Company offer a matching contribution to the 401(k) Retirement Plan?

Answer: Yes, the Company matches dollar for dollar up to 3% of your deferral percentage, then contributes an additional ½% up to 4% of your deferral and additional ½% up to 5% of your deferral for a total match of 4%.

Question: Can I change my deferral percentage?

Answer: Yes, you can change your deferral percentage at the beginning of each month by contacting a Voya Representative at 1-800-584-6001.

Waggoners’ healthcare plan has always offered a variety of voluntary and supplemental insurance coverage, which are paid for by Waggoners employees. Both full time and part time employees are eligible to purchase these during open enrollment each year.   Payments will be handled through payroll deductions.

The Hartford Supplemental Life Insurance (Voluntary / Supplemental)

The Hartford supplemental life insurance program offers coverage to employees, with options for spouse and dependent coverage. Employees determine the coverage levels for themselves, their spouse, and their dependents, up to allowable maximum limits.

VOYA Supplemental Critical Illness Coverage (Voluntary / Supplemental)

Employees who are not eligible for a company paid policy may purchase additional critical illness insurance in $5,000 increments, up to $20,000.

Employees may also purchase critical illness policies for their spouse and children. Rates for critical illness coverage are based on age and tobacco use.

Supplemental Accident Coverage (Voluntary)

Employees may purchase the basic accident coverage for themselves, as well as, their spouse and children. Benefit payouts are dependent upon the type of accident.

Vision Insurance (Voluntary / Supplemental)

Full and part time employees may voluntarily purchase a vision insurance plan. Under this plan, employees pay a co-payment for exam visits, with 100% coverage when visiting an in-network provider. The plan also provides additional benefits for glasses & contacts.
